Chicago Community Builders Collective (CCBC), the general contractor for the Bally’s Chicago Casino project, in partnership with UCAN Chicago, Bally’s Chicago, McHugh Concrete Construction, UJAMAA Construction, and Brown and Momen, hosted two-free meal giveaways, providing meals to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients impacted by the longest federal government shutdown in U.S. history.

Steel continues to dominate the Bally’s Casino construction site in River West, as crews from the Chicago Community Builders Collective continue to progress. In the six weeks or so since our last visit, the iron framework has risen from a single level to the seventh story at the north end of the site.

Today, people struggling over the loss of SNAP benefits will be getting some much needed help. The Chicago Community Builders Collective is partnering to host a free sandwich giveaway in North Lawndale. Volunteers will hand out 150 free sandwiches, along with chips and drinks on a first-come, first-served basis.
